Hi, I'm Meg! I'm from Charlotte and have been obsessed with fashion since the age of 2. Growing up in Charlotte, with a booming economy and little thrifting options - I was always on the hunt fun and unique clothing. At a very young age, I made it my goal to move to NYC after college and work in fashion and some how, create something impactful within the industry.
One week after graduating from Clemson in August 2011 - I was in a U-Haul on my way to NYC. I was hired as the Merchandising Associate for a small women's clothing company - and the only thing I knew was how to work hard! After years of learning, working extremely hard and having next to no social life - I became the Merchandising Director and Fabric Buyer for the company. I attended fabric shows in Paris two times a year, and worked directly with the owner/designer of the company.
At the time - I thought I was living my dream, but I wasn't happy and didn't know how to feel happy again. It took me eight years of hustling and grinding to realize that NYC was not the best place for me.
In 2018 I decided to move back to Charlotte - turns out that the ten year old me was wrong about my life plans! When I got back, I took some much needed time off and began working with clay for fun. I fell in LOVE with the medium and perfected my craft. In July 2019 K|LA gave me the opportunity to start selling my jewelry in their two locations, and it took off!
One of the best things about clay earrings is how light-weight they are. You might even forget you are wearing them!
Today I can confidently tell you, that if I hadn't worked for that company in NYC - I would not be starting my own company today, so THANK YOU to everyone who got me here!
LOTS OF SMILES AND LOVE TO YOU ALL!
